Female Plus - Estrogen Support Component

The 2nd component of Female Plus is designed to support healthy estrogen balance. It contains soy protein along with the active constituent isoflavones in combination with synergistic botanicals and Vitamin E.

Menopause is not a disease. Menopause is the point at which a woman stops ovulating and menstruation ceases, which is brought about as the aging process progresses. As aging progresses, it brings about the slowing of production of the hormones, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone in the female body.

For most women hormone production begins to slow down when they reach their 30's, and continues to diminish as they age.

Estrogen Support Contains:

Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopheryl succinate): This is a dry natural form of Vitamin E. Vitamin E is widely recognized for its antioxidant activities, and it appears to be protective against cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer in some individuals. It has demonstrated immune-enhancing effects.

Soy Protein: Soy is rich in phytoestrogens (including isoflavones) which may substitute for the body's own estrogen if it is manufacturing too little. Dietary phytoestrogens may offer significant advantages over the use of estrogens in the treatment of menopausal symptoms.

Black Cohosh Root: The active ingredients in the root are the triterpene glycosides. The increase in luteinizing hormone (LH) that occurs as estrogen levels decrease is implicated as the cause of menopausal symptoms. The triterpene glycosides bind to the estrogen receptor where it selectively suppresses LH secretion with no effect on FSH. The result is an estrogenic effect.

Burdock Root: This botanical has been historically used as a blood purifier and may have antioxidant properties. Some studies have shown that burdock and vitamin E quench more free radicals when used in combination.

Dandelion Root: This botanical has been historically used to support liver and gallbladder function. Since hormones are conjugated in the liver it is important to support liver function.

Dong Quai Root: In Asia Dong Quai's reputation is perhaps second only to ginseng. Predominately regarded as a 'female' remedy, this botanical has been used in menopausal symptoms and other female complaints.

Wild Yam Root: This botanical contains the component diosgenin which has been historically used as a precursor for manufacturing progesterone and estrogen.
